Hello! i'm typing this lying flat on my bed with my laptop perched at a 45º angle between my bent knee on and my stomach. and i am in pain, badly sunburnt but greatly satisfied. the reason? hoho - i went to Long Beach, a private beach in Long Island for a full day involving the works - sun, sand, sea and surf! I went with the meades, sizwe and juliana. For the first time i was less apprehensive about big waves and became more daring, and body surfed and boogie boarded for a couple of hours. the waves were among the biggest i've ever played in, but oh goodness, they were so fun! i don't particularly like the beach, but i think yesterday has changed my mind - so let's go to the beach!

i've been doing several crazy things this past week and a half - like going hiking with my chem professor with pat, sam and john, going to eat food again with joe and marina :D, gone contra dancing, gone to the Ulster county fair where i got to sit on crazy rides, eat chilli cheese fries, sno cones, and WATCH PIGS RACE AND SWIM for real! so cute! hosted susannah who came back to us from hawaii. i also went crazy on amazon.com buying stuff for kenya... and now i'm just working at the gym doing... nothing but sitting in a/c and slacking.
