*SCREEEEEAM!

deep breath.

guesswhatguesswhatguesswhat?

today must be one of the happiest sick days in my life. okay, so i'm down with a cough and cold and basically feeling extremely lousy for 99.735374 % of the day. but so many good things happened today - i think God is trying to cheer me up :D
so...
1) so i didn't go to my 9 am physics class this morning because yeah, i was having a throbbing headache and sniffling and having coughing fits. plus, there was no reading quiz today. so i stayed in and rested - drank tea, spoke to my mum (who was unsympathetic. heh), and yeah passed the 50 mins of class time peacefully in the dimness of my room.

2) i HAD to drag myself to biochem because edem was counting on me to hand in the jointly collaborated lab report - which i did - it was the best i could do, i feel as if i didn't particularly contribute much otherwise - he is so much better than me. heh. anyways so yeah, sickness has made my skin scaley and pastey - gross - so far the day didn't start off too well.

but the day changed soon after class...

3) i handed in my transcript request form to the registrar! YAY! trivial matter, but being the procrastinator i am, this is truly an accomplishment.

4) headed off to the dmv in a van full of international students - found tulio to be there! yay! so yeah i actually intended to only apply for a new york state ID - but in the end decided to apply for my driving learner's permit because i want to get my licence eventually - and you can only hold one or the other. the thing with a learner's permit is that you have to take the highway code test (like in sg the basic/final theory test). and i was thinking 'darn, i didn't even get to read the manual. since all the road rules are slightly different in the states, plus you drive on the other side of the road.' but i was thinking i may as well just apply and just take the test - and if i fail just retake it again some other time because subsequent tries are free, but super ley chey to go back and forth between college and town.

tulio was also like - just take it. only that he'd read the manual and done practice tests. 2 years before. hahaa, but still at least he got to look at the manual! so in the 5 mins waiting for my number to be called, i called my bro who went online and started reading questions to me - basically giving me a 5 min crash course. and guess what....

I PASSED! 17/20. if i got below 16 i would've failed. HAHAHAHHAHAHAAHA. i'm happy because i feel i saved a lot of unnecessary study time. phew. i'm glad. and the 3 other vassar college students ALSO passed. woohoo! so yeah, my friends can start teaching me and letting me drive and stuff :D

5) i ended up going for a chinese new year dinner - it was alright. i thought the atmosphere was good - i initially didn't plan to go because i was tired, but i wanted food that was not from ACDC nor the retreat, so i went alone. ended up sitting with julie, christine, eun joo, taeho, kwang, vasi (marjorie's bf) and rahul. it was nice conversation. the food and programme were so so. i think debbie made the yummy vietnamese spring rolls, though. so it was nice overall though i missed singapore cny SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO much - and the REAL lion dances. more on that later...

6) and the BEST part of today IS..................................
THE NEW SEASON OF NARUTO IS OUT. the one that actually follows the STORYLINE! and i watched the first episode on youtube. SO GOOD. and NIKI! niki who loaned me the first like 64 episodes of naruto GAVE ME ALL HER VCDs. So now i have a complete collection of the first couple of seasons (excluding the lame-o fillers that went on for like 100 episodes).

ah. my head is throbbing again... but YES! that was my day :D i'm happy. pray that i'll get well soon though :D

p.s 7) my small group recommences tomorrow. YEAH!
