i wonder how one's music taste evolves.
my parents don't listen to much music. well my dad plays the gee-tar and my mum, well she's into oldies. but it's not like they pick up a CD and put it into the cd player and dance around to it or listen to it while they work. as for me and my brother, we can't live without music -
music does play a huge part in our culture now -- to a certain extent it is indispensable because it transcends all boundaries that people and society construct. i find that my most passive friend listens to hard rock, my neighbour (who is also my buddy) listens to techno and DDR music, and I only listen to music that's sappy, christian, foreign or pop-rockish and despise all hip-hop, rap and hardrock. therefore boybands - bsb, 183 club, westlife - you get my drift. no angsty screaming music. no norah jones, oh yeah, no jazz.
i think it's also the aspect of music that can instill and inspire various emotions. sadness and nostalgia being my favourite kind. hehehe... eva cassidy - time after time and fields of gold (of dreams yet to be achieved, of heights yet to be reached). jamelia - superstar and bbmak - out of my heart (sydney and new zealand). i used to run down the hill in the chill of the morning to get to the train station to go to school listening to bbmak. good times.

thank God for music.
and yes, 'blessed be your name' by Tree 63 is still no. 1 on my playlist.
