so just FOUR more working days, then friday comes, then i fly.
perhaps it is a good thing that i go home so rarely -- the anticipation and excitement is well... like kryptonite!
i am back at Vassar after spending a good part of the 4th of July long weekend in the city :D i never realised just how wonderful it is having friends in the city and being able to meet up and hang out with them. This time round i stayed with Daniel (again) and hung out with Kurt and Rishad for the bulk of Saturday and some of Sunday. we watched Spamalot!!!!!!! oh man, so cool! good thing i watched the Monty Python movie over easter at Rich's house :) and they enjoyed it too... so that makes me happy. did some shopping -- sales are on, but sadly i think that most of the good stuff flew off the shelves already. however, i think my taste in fashion is changing again -- think... GAP everything. like carolyn... haha. i still like Forever 21 though. Old Navy and H&M take some deep searching...
anyway
i have been getting fat. good grief. i have to think of ways not to gain any weight at home -- which is quite impossible unless i make it a point to exercise daily. public transport and walking! that's the way to go! and... running i guess. bleh.
July 4th was nicely spent out for lunch with Anca, lab, and then out with good friends barbecuing by the Hudson. it was nice being in nature and being by the water. it was a little 50-second hike down a relatively steep slope to the water's edge, but so relaxing just chilling with good company. we made a small bonfire and got to make s'mores. omgosh, how i love them s'mores.
yum. and nothing like making 'em yourself. (picture taken from tyshaandjacob.blogspot.com)in any case, i am excited to be done with this week ASAP. i arrive saturday night at 11.55 pm, then church the next day IN SINGAPORE in the morning. eeks. i hope the evil that is jet lag doesn't happen to me, or that the adrenaline will be flowing freely throughout my being.
P.S: mind expansion is still underway: reading - "the Irresistible Revolution" by Shane Claiborne.
